We are pleased to announce the release of version 6.70 of the Citadel system. This release introduces message journaling, an important feature that allows all messages and other communications to be recorded to a destination chosen by the system administrator or compliance officer, allowing Citadel systems to be used in environments which are required to retain messages for compliance with industry regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA.
Citadel's new journaling function integrates seamlessly into the archival solution of your choice, preserving important envelope information so that a compliance officer will be able to tell from the archive exactly who in the organization received or sent a copy of any given message. Non-email content such as instant messages, calendar items, and posts to public rooms (folders) can be journaled as well.
WebCit has been updated to version 6.70 as well. The new version includes an AJAX-powered instant messenger window, which provides an application-like interface to Citadel's built-in instant messenger system. Real-time chats with other users are now presented in an intuitive tabbed window which is similar in look and feel to popular desktop instant messaging clients.
